One unidentified woman was killed in a fatal pedestrian accident on Ellen Trout Drive on Wednesday, December 15, 2021.
The pedestrian crash happened at about 6:20 p.m. on Ellen Trout Drive and Sayers Street inside Loop 287.
The woman was attempting to cross Ellen Trout Drive to Sayers Street when an eastbound Toyota Corolla struck her.
According to witnesses, a driver in the crossover turn lane stopped to allow the woman to cross. However, the driver in the Corolla failed to notice her because the stretch of the highway was dark.
The woman was immediately rushed to a local hospital by ambulance, where she was later pronounced dead.
Local authorities are still investigating the accident.
