One 45-year-old man identified as Keeymo M. of Port Arthur was injured after a two-vehicle crash in Newton County on Saturday morning, December 18.
The collision happened shortly after 11:00 a.m. on Highway 63 near County Road 1395, a few miles west of Burkeville.
According to Sergeant Shana Clark of the Texas Department of Public Safety, a 2016 GMC SUV was traveling westbound, and a 2008 Chevrolet pickup pulling a trailer was traveling eastbound.
The SUV’s driver failed to yield to the pickup while attempting to make a left turn into a driveway, according to Clark, and the truck collided with the SUV. The 45-year-old SUV driver was taken to Jasper Memorial Hospital for treatment.
The pickup’s driver, 23-year-old James J., and his passenger, 20-year-old Ray R., both from Louisiana, were unharmed.
