Three people, including an infant, were killed in an accident in Tyler County on Monday morning, December 20, 2021.
The fatal two-vehicle crash happened shortly before 7:00 a.m. on Farm to Market Road 96 in the Fred Community.
According to Sergeant Shana Clark of the Texas Department of Public Safety, it happened when a small car slid out of control into the opposite lane and was hit by an SUV. All of the victims were in the car when they died.
Sergeant Clark has identified the deceased as Jacob H., the Honda driver, 18-year-old Christina G., and 4-month-old River H.
According to Clark, the driver was driving a 2009 Honda passenger car northbound when he went off the highway and then returned, sliding sideways into the southbound lane, where a 2012 Chevrolet SUV struck the Honda.
According to Clark, the three people in the Honda died at the scene, while the SUV driver, Shannon D., 28, of Spurger, was taken to a Beaumont hospital for treatment.
