Four people were injured, including a 2-year-old girl, following a DUI crash in Arlington on Tuesday, December 21, 2021.
The crash happened at about 8:20 p.m. on Interstate 20 in Arlington.
According to preliminary reports, Tyler Hampton, 25, was driving recklessly in a Mazda MX-5 with two adults and two children inside when it slammed into a Toyota Tundra around 8:20 p.m. Tuesday.
Hampton was found to be inebriated after a series of roadside sobriety tests. The collision did not cause him any serious injuries.
Hampton was arrested on three charges of intoxication assault resulting in serious bodily injury.
A 26-year-old man and a 22-year-old woman, both adults, were taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
A four-year-old girl sustained minor injuries, while a two-year-old girl was rushed to the hospital with serious injuries.
Prior to the collision, witnesses told police that Hampton was driving erratically in a Mazda MX-5. He collided with a guardrail, causing the Tundra to veer off the road, roll, and land on its side.
The Arlington City Jail is where he is being held. There has yet to be a bond established. An investigation is currently underway.
