Four people were killed, and two were injured in a crash in Amarillo on Wednesday night, December 22, 2021, according to the Amarillo Police Department.
The collision occurred in the area of Loop 335 near Broadway around 7:30 p.m., according to APD.
A pickup was eastbound on the wrong side of the road, the pickup then struck a westbound Nissan Altima.
Officials reported that four people were pronounced dead at the scene.
With life-threatening injuries, a 23-year-old man and the driver of the suspect vehicle were taken to a local hospital.
Officials believe intoxication may have played a role.
The crash was responded to by Amarillo police, Amarillo Fire Department, and Potter County Fire Department.
The Amarillo Police Department’s Traffic Investigation Unit is looking into the matter.
