According to the Amarillo Police Department, one 20-year-old motorcyclist identified as Taymarion J. was killed in a motorcycle crash in Amarillo on Friday, December 24, 2021.
The crash happened at around 5:15 p.m. in the area of SW 58th and Western.
Officers arrived to find a Nissan Altima and an SSR Motorsports motorcycle that had collided in the intersection, according to Amarillo Police Department.
According to the release, the motorcycle was traveling southbound on Western, while the Altima was traveling northbound on Western before turning westbound onto SW 58th.
The motorcycle driver was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries on Friday night, according to APD, while the Altima driver was not hurt.
According to APD, the motorcyclist died as a result of his injuries on Saturday, December 25. The Traffic Investigation Unit is investigating the case, and his next of kin has been notified.
