According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, one person was killed, and four people, including children, were injured in a fatal two-vehicle crash in Rose City on Wednesday, December 29, 2021.
The fatal collision happened at about 2:00 p.m. at mile marker 857 west of the Asher Turnaround in Rose City.
According to a DPS update, a 2010 Chrysler passenger car was traveling west in the outside lane.
The 2016 Chrysler passenger car driver, for unknown reasons, lost control of her speed and collided with the back of the vehicle on I-10 West at mile marker 857, just west of the Asher Turnaround in Rose City.
The police have identified the 2016 Chrysler driver as 47-year-old woman Johnnie C. She was immediately rushed to CHRISTUS St. Elizabeth Hospital, where she was eventually pronounced dead.
Officials also identified the 2010 driver of the Chrysler as 20-year-old Robin A.
The 2010 Chrysler driver, along with three passengers, were taken to CHRISTUS St. Elizabeth for treatment. Two children and 47-year-old Cartresia H. were among the passengers.
