Two people were taken to Lufkin hospitals after a car ran a stoplight and struck an SUV at Loop 287 Thursday morning, June 16, 2022.
According to news reports, the collision occurred at about 8:25 a.m. at the Loop 287 Tulane Drive overpass.
According to the initial investigation, an SUV traveling north toward Cheddar’s on the feeder was struck by a silver sedan traveling south on Tulane Drive from the Target area.
The sedan’s driver was not wearing a seatbelt and sustained serious injuries; both drivers were taken to nearby hospitals by Lufkin Fire.
According to the press release, the scene is now clear.
Investigations into the collision are ongoing.
