Two young boys and a female teen were injured after getting hit by a car while walking to school in San Antonio on Friday morning, October 15.
The crash transpired at approximately 7:00 a.m. on the 8900 block of Somerset Road in south San Antonio. The three victims were walking down the street on their way to school when they were suddenly struck by a passing car.
The driver that struck the three children remained at the scene and called for help. The driver claimed that the area was dimly lit, and he could not see the victims at the time of the accident. The 8-year-old boy sustained severe injuries in the crash and was immediately taken to an area hospital for treatment.
The other two students were transported to an area hospital as well; the 13-year-old girl suffered from a broken leg due to the accident. Information about the accident is limited at the moment. Local authorities are further investigating the case.
