Two people were injured after a wrong-way crash in San Antonio on early Thursday morning, August 26.
The crash took place on Wurzbach Parkway near Butziway in San Antonio at approximately 1:30 a.m. A blue 2001 Nissan Altima was driving in the wrong direction on the westbound lanes.
The Nissan then collided head-on with an oncoming gray 2021 GMC Terrain. The Terrain driver attempted to flee the scene on foot but was later apprehended by local authorities.
Both drivers were injured in the mishap and were taken to the Book Army Medical Center to be examined. Authorities later confirmed that both drivers were under the influence at the time of the accident.
Both drivers will face DUI-related charges. Authorities confirmed that the Terrain driver was in possession of marijuana at the time of the accident. The case is under further investigation.
