A 61-year-old woman identified as Martha M. was killed after a deadly two-vehicle collision at an intersection in Burleson County on Saturday, September 4.
The crash transpired at noontime at the intersection of Highway 36 and Farm-to-Market Road 1363. A Jeep SUV was traveling northbound; however, the driver was reportedly distracted, which caused him to rear-end a Ford car stopped at the intersection.
The Ford car was attempting to make a turn onto FM 1363 when the Jeep SUV rear-ended it. The Ford driver was pronounced dead at the scene. Meanwhile, the Jeep SUV driver remained at the scene and was cooperative with authorities.
He was uninjured in the crash. It’s unclear whether drugs or alcohol played a role in the accident. The DPS is actively investigating the cause of the collision.
