A 35-year-old man identified as Garry M. was killed by a suspected DUI driver near U.S. 75 on Monday night, August 30.
The crash transpired at approximately 9:45 p.m. at the overpass from LBJ Freeway to southbound U.S. 75. McGee was reportedly hooking up a gray 2008 Nissan Altima to his tow truck when a westbound 2003 Chevrolet Tahoe suddenly struck him and his vehicle.
Due to the severity of the impact, the tow truck operator was pushed off the overpass and onto the freeway below. The tow truck operator sustained fatal injuries in the mishap. He was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
The 2008 Nissan Altima driver was later identified as 35-year-old Denise Chantel A. Authorities determined that she was under the influence at the time of the accident. She was then arrested for DUI-related charges and manslaughter. Local authorities are further investigating the crash.

Wrongful Death Attorney for Victims of Fatal DUI Crashes in Dallas County
While your insurance company may be more than happy to help you after your automobile accident, you should know that although insurance companies will provide some form of financial support, they may not always pay you what you deserve. In many instances, a drunk driver does not have insurance, leaving you, the victim, with no way to compensate for your damages. Even if the at-fault motorist has insurance, you may not be able to recover enough money to cover your medical bills and other obligations.
While waiting for the official investigation results, the victim’s family is encouraged to pursue a wrongful death claim with their attorney’s help. Through the wrongful death claim, the victim’s family can seek financial compensation for the damages such as funeral costs, loss of income and companionship, pain and suffering, and emotional trauma that the fatal accident has caused them.
