Miguel C. was killed after a deadly traffic crash involving an 18-wheeler in Channelview on Saturday morning, September 18.
The fatal crash transpired at approximately 3:20 a.m. at the intersection of Bayou Drive and East Freeway service road in Channelview. An eastbound pickup truck driven by Camarillo was traveling on the East Freeway service road while an 18-wheeler was driving on the southbound lanes of Bayou Drive.
Unfortunately, for unclear reasons, the pickup truck failed to stop at the intersection and T-boned the southbound 18-wheeler. Unfortunately, the pickup truck driver was killed in the mishap. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities believe that speeding may have been a factor in the crash however, it’s unclear whether intoxication also played a role. The operator of the 18-wheeler remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities. He was uninjured in the mishap. Local authorities are further investigating the case.
