One unidentified person was killed after a deadly crash involving an 18-wheeler and a train at a railroad crossing in northeast Harris County on Wednesday morning, September 8.
According to the initial reports from local authorities, the crash took place at FM 2100 and FM 1960 at approximately 7:00 a.m.
A northbound 18-wheeler was traveling on FM 2100 while a southern train was heading eastbound. The cab of the 18-wheeler was on the tracks when the train struck it.
Due to the severity of the impact, the train pushed the cab 30 feet down the tracks. The driver of the 18-wheeler was killed in the accident. His identity has not been disclosed.
No other injuries were reported. It’s unclear what caused the accident to occur. An active investigation of the case is currently underway.
