An unidentified woman was killed after a traffic collision involving a tractor-trailer in Houston on early Thursday morning, August 12.
The deadly accident transpired at approximately 12:15 a.m. on Highway 290 near Eldridge Parkway in the Jersey Village area of Houston. The woman was reportedly driving a black Lexus behind an 18-wheeler when, for unclear reasons, she crashed into the truck’s trailer. The woman was ejected from her vehicle due to the severity of the impact.
The woman was immediately airlifted to an area hospital with serious injuries. Unfortunately, she was later pronounced dead. Her identity has not been disclosed.
The freeway was shut down for several hours to give way for the cleanup. Information about the accident is limited at the moment. The Harris County Sheriff’s Office Vehicular Crimes Division is currently investigating the accident.
