[09-12-2021] Houston County, TX – One Killed, Another Seriously Injured After a Fatal DUI Crash on Southwest Freeway

One person was killed while another was seriously injured after a two-vehicle crash involving a drunk driver on Southwest Freeway on early Sunday morning, September 12.

The deadly crash happened at the Southwest Freeway service road intersection and the Fountainview at around 3:15 a.m. A woman reportedly ran a red light at the intersection then T-boned an eastbound Acura on Fountainview.

The Acura driver was fatally injured in the mishap. They were pronounced dead at the scene. Meanwhile, a passenger inside the Acura sustained serious injuries and was taken to an area hospital for treatment. Authorities apprehended the woman that ran a red light.

She was arrested and charged with intoxication manslaughter. Information about the accident is limited at the moment. The identities of the involved parties have not been disclosed. Local authorities are further investigating the case.
