Two people were killed while two others were hurt after a major two-vehicle collision in Beaumont on Monday night, September 20.
The deadly collision transpired at approximately 8:00 p.m. on Interstate 10 near FM 365 just west of Beaumont. A westbound 2004 Honda passenger car failed to stay in a single lane for unclear reasons and veered into the eastbound lanes, where it later crashed into an eastbound 2019 Dodge passenger van.
A passenger inside the Honda, who was identified as 40-year-old Tulio Funes C., was pronounced dead at the scene. Meanwhile, a passenger inside the Dodge, identified as 71-year-old Timotea B., was also killed in the mishap. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
On the other hand, both the Honda and the Dodge driver sustained significant injuries in the crash and were taken to their respective area hospitals for treatment. The Honda driver was identified as Kelvin R., while the Dodge driver was identified as Andresina B.
Information about the accident is limited at the moment. Local authorities are further investigating the cause of the accident.
