[10-23-2021] Kerr County, TX – Two Children Dead and Eight People Injured at Texas Drag Race at Kerrville-Kerr County Airport

An eight-year-old boy and a six-year-old boy lost their lives, and eight people were injured, with the youngest being a 3-month-old girl following a disastrous drag-racing event on October 23, Saturday.

The tragic accident happened around 3:20 p.m. at the Kerrville-Kerr County Airport, where the event was held.

The accident happened when one of the participant’s cars lost control and ran off the runway, slamming into the parked vehicles and the spectators.

Initial reports show that two of the injured children, a 4-year-old boy, and the three-month-old baby girl, were rushed to Peterson Regional Medical Center while two other victims received medical aid at the scene by first responders.

The other four victims from ages 26 to 46 were immediately brought to hospitals in San Antonio and Austin. A middle-aged woman was flown to University Medical Center and listed in critical condition. The deadly accident is still under investigation.
