A 46-year-old man identified as Jose G. was hurt after a pedestrian crash on Loop 289 on Tuesday night, September 14.
The crash happened at approximately 9:47 p.m. in the 2500 block of the S. Loop 289 eastbound access road.
The pedestrian was struck by a passing eastbound vehicle on the access road. How the crash occurred, and the reason it happened has not been established.
The pedestrian sustained serious injuries in the mishap. He was rushed to University Medical Center for treatment.
It’s unclear whether drugs or alcohol played a role in the mishap. The Lubbock Police Department’s Major Crash Unit is currently investigating the case.
