Five people were hurt after a traffic collision involving two vehicles near Shallowater on Sunday afternoon, September 5.
The accident happened at the intersection of U.S. Highway 84 and Farm-to-Market Road 1294 at around 12:40 p.m. A Ford passenger car was traveling on FM 1294 when the driver reportedly failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersection and collided with a Chevrolet pickup truck driving on U.S. Highway 94.
Four occupants inside the pickup truck were injured in the mishap. Meanwhile, one person inside the Ford passenger car was also injured. All five injured parties were taken to an area hospital for treatment. The injuries of the involved parties range from moderate to severe.
Their identities have not been disclosed. It’s unclear why the sedan driver failed to stop at the stop sign. No arrests have been made at the moment. The case is currently under further investigation.
