One person was killed, and another was seriously injured in a head-on two-vehicle crash early near Port Aransas Thursday morning, June 16, 2022.
Port Aransas Police said the crash transpired around 7:36 a.m. south of Highway 361.
According to reports, the driver of the blue SUV swerved into the oncoming lane while traveling south on Highway 361 and struck the truck square in the head.
A blue SUV’s driver was pronounced dead at the scene of the collision, which was attended by the Corpus Christi Fire Department, Port Aransas Fire, and Nueces County ESD #2.
After saving him, emergency personnel flew a truck driver to a nearby hospital via HALO. At this point, it is unknown how they are doing.
Investigations into the collision are ongoing.
