[09-13-2021] Rockwall County, TX – One Person Seriously Injured After an 18-Wheeler Crash in Royse City

One person was seriously injured after a traffic crash involving an 18-wheeler in Royse City on early Monday morning, September 13.

According to the initial reports from local authorities, the accident occurred on Interstate 30 at around 12:15 a.m. An eastbound 18-wheeler was traveling on the interstate when the engine failed. The driver then pulled onto the shoulder.

However, a second 18-wheeler veered onto the shoulder and rear-ended the stopped 18-wheeler, and caught fire. Due to the severity of the impact, the driver of the second 18-wheeler was ejected from his vehicle.

He was rushed to an area hospital and is currently in critical condition. Information about the accident is limited at the moment. The identities of the involved parties have not been disclosed. The accident is currently under further investigation.
