[01-07-2022] Tarrant County, TX – Multi-Vehicle Crash in Fort Worth Involving Seven Vehicles Caused Major Backups

The Sun Valley exit has closed multiple lanes of 820 while crews work to clear the wreckage, according to Fort Worth Police.

After a major multi-vehicle accident during Friday, January 7, 2022, rush hour, traffic is backed up for miles near Fort Worth.

The multi-vehicle accident occurred around 4 p.m. in the southbound lanes of Loop 820 on Fort Worth’s southeastern outskirts.

According to MedStar, there were possibly seven vehicles involved in the accident.

As tow trucks worked to move the vehicles involved, aerial video from above the scene showed at least two lanes of traffic passing by. However, traffic in the area appeared to be at a standstill and was backed up for miles.

There has been no word on what caused the accident so far. No one has been reportedly injured, according to the police.
