[01-16-2022] Travis County, TX – Multiple People Injured and Two Patients Entrapped in Two-Vehicle Crash on Interstate 35

According to ATCEMS, two people were taken to the hospital with potentially serious injuries on Interstate 35 on Sunday, January 16.

The crash happened at approximately 2:00 p.m. at 1600 Interstate 35, just south of East Martin Luther King Jr Boulevard, which caused major traffic delays.

Medics responded to the two-vehicle collision with both vehicles rolled over and at least two patients entrapped in their vehicles, according to Austin-Travis County EMS (ATCEMS).

ATCEMS further tweeted that everyone had been extricated from their vehicles.

Two adults were taken to Dell Seton Medical Center with potentially serious but not life-threatening injuries, while two others refused to be taken.

The crash affected traffic on both the northbound and southbound lanes of I-35, according to ATCEMS, and there would be significant delays.

There was no other information available at the time. Local authorities are still investigating the crash.
