[01-18-2022] Ector County, TX – 28-Year-Old Man Killed in Wrong-Way Crash on Interstate 20

One man identified as 28-year-old Arnoldo Esquivel D. was killed in a deadly two-vehicle crash in Ector County on Tuesday, January 18, 2022.

The two-vehicle crash happened on Tuesday on Interstate 20, 15 miles east of Monahans.

The 28-year-old man of Denton, Texas, was killed in the crash, while 36-year-old Raul V. of Monahans, Texas, is being treated for critical injuries at Medical Center Hospital.

According to the preliminary inquiry, the 36-year-old driver was heading east in the westbound lane of Interstate 20 while the 28-year-old driver was traveling west in the westbound lanes.

The 36-year-old man then collided with the 28-year-old driver while driving in the wrong direction.

During the collision, both males were wearing seatbelts. The crash remains under investigation.
