[10-16-2021] Crosby County, TX – Two Women Killed After a Fatal Two-Vehicle Collision on FM 1942

Two women were killed after a deadly two-vehicle traffic collision on FM 1942 on Saturday night, October 16.

The deadly collision occurred in the 3300 block of FM 1942, near Camino del Rancho Road, at around 11:15 p.m. A 2001 Nissan Versa occupied by the two women was reportedly backing out of a residential driveway when suddenly struck by a 2012 white Toyota Tundra.

Due to the severity of the impact, the Nissan Versa was pushed into a roadside ditch. The female passenger inside the Versa was ejected from the vehicle. Both the female occupants of the Nissan Versa sustained life-threatening injuries in the mishap. They were both, unfortunately, pronounced dead at the scene.

The 2012 white Toyota Tundra driver was identified as Omar Ortiz H. was treated and released. He admitted to drinking several before driving. After that, he was taken into custody on suspicion of drunk driving and arrested. The crash is currently under investigation.
